Triple Switch Plate

Will we ever see in the MLB….?

A.) A team throwing balls and issuing intentional walks endlessly so the game cannot end.
B.) Three men throwing in the bullpen
C.) A bunt triple(oh yes, a bunt double has actually happened before)
D.) A celebrity gives a team a lot of money for one official major league at-bat
E.) Another Black Sox Scandal
F.) A defense with 7 infielders and 0 outfielders
G.) A switch-pitcher(ambidextrious, i know there is one kid who is still young, but is two-armed)
H.) A triple play where all runners get thrown out at the plate
I.) A walk-off inside the park grand slam
J.) Pirates win a pennant in a year which has the number “2″ in it.

This is definitely one of the more interesting questions…

A) No. It would make sense to issue 8 IBB’s to get to that one guy who couldn’t hit. But endlessly? Try forfeit.

B) Yes. And if they don’t have enough mounds in the bullpen, they should take turns like infield practice.

C) Yes. The way they give cheap inside-the-park homeruns when somebody falls down, you could have the shortstop and 3rdbaseman bump into each other on a bunt, both injured, thus no one could get to the ball in time and there would not be a fielder at third.

D) Yes. But I think they will have “make a wish” for the sick kids first.

E) Yes. Especially if MLB decides to play a game in Taiwan.

F) No. An infield with 7 people seems awfully crowded. And if the batter bunts, chances are 2 people would bump into each other, creating an infield triple described in A. Ha ha.

G) Definitely. I think there was one named Harris for the Rangers in late 80′s already.

H) Yes. We almost had one in our softball game several years ago. There was a ghost out coming up with 2 outs and the team trailing in the last inning, so after the batter hit the ball, everybody just kept running, all we had to do was to get the ball to the catcher and waited for them to get tagged out at home.

I) Yes. After someone hit a bunt triple, they brought in a switch pitcher to face the next guy who was involved in the Black Sox scandal, but the switch pitcher couldn’t throw a strike, thus endlessly throwing balls and walking the next 2 batters to load the bases, so the manager pulled him and told him to go back to the bullpen to warm up the other arm, creating a 3-men bullpen. The next batter was some dude who paid a fortune to get a big league at bat, so out of disrespect for his power, the manager moved in all his outfielders to the infield, but the guy somehow muscled a flyball over the drawn-in, 7-men infield. So there you had it: A walkoff inside the park grand slam.

(Somehow I don’t feel it nearly as exciting as the walk-off-dropped-infield-pop-up in the Mets-Yankees game a couple days ago.)

J) Yes. After losing the game described above, the Pirates never won another game for the next 1000 years.
