How I can do a repair of a hole the size of a pen in my fiberglass tub / shower and what caused it?

The tub / shower is only 14 Months Old and fiberglass. yesterday I noticed a small hole in the center of the tub a few inches of the face. No is that old and spare bathroom so you only used a handful of times. With full hand which means twice as much for one person and maybe 6 times for our dog, a 75-pound bull pit.

Get some epoxy should do the trick. I can not really say what caused it.
