How can I get a suction cup to stick to my shower wall?

I purchased a dual head shower head today, and the handheld nozzle is supposed to hang in a device that suction cups to the shower wall. I have a shower stall (Nylon? Vinyl? I’m not sure…) that has a very slight texture to it. The suction cup will not stick. What can I do to modify the cup or wall to make it stick? Thanks!
And yes, I am trying to stick it to the wall. Not the shower curtain. Thanks for all of your answers so far. I will give best answer tomorrow!

Put a little water on the suction cup itself, it should stick after that…….
