White Laundry Bag

How do I remove petroleum jelly which has melted inside pocket of a cabin suitcase. Stain is approx 30cm sq.?

We absorbed as much as possible with paper. Then used washing up detergent and hot water with a towel in the pocket. Then used a lot of laundry detergent and hot water and worked this into stain for about an hour to no avail. Stain is still greasy to touch. Lining of bag is polyester. I have considered using white spirits? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Get goo gone and follow the directions, this usually works really well. Otherwise, use dishwashing detergent (for dishwashers, scrub in with a toothbrush and let it sit for about 4 minutes, then rinse and blot. But don’t use palmolive because it has a lot of bleach in it. Use cascade complete. If all of that fails, get Goop hand cleaner, scrub it in to the fabric when dry…then blot up and rinse as well. I hope you get the stain out!
