Some people can sleep through anything (my husband can sleep standing up on a subway The Marpac Sound Screen 980 is for us “delicate sleepers”.

It does seem silly to buy a “Noise” Machine, but a white noise machine such as the Marpac Sound Screen 980­ will let your mind slip into blissful slumber

 

There are a few important features to look for when buying a noise machine:

 

1. Option of adjusting noise level and pitch – Different people find different levels “perfect” – you WILL find your perfect level but it may not be the same as mine
2. Small for travel – You’ll want to take this everywhere. It’s like sleeping in your own bed no matter where you are
3. Live Noise – This is the most import thing. Many digital noise machines have a recording that loops around. The manufacturers try to hide the start of the loop but you can hear it and find yourself laying awake anticipating the restart of the loop

 

I have found that the Marpac Sound Screen 980­ is “perfect”. On the first night it took me about one hour to get used to the idea of sleeping with it, but since then I’ve been sleeping blissfully.
