What do you recommend, whole house fans or attic fans ???

I have a brand new 8 month old house. The house is a 2,500 s/f one story. I have shutters on my windows and have the windows tinted. It gets about 95 – 105 degrees mid summer and probably anywhere in the 60′s at night. The stupid ac runs all the time. Do you recommend whole fans or attic fans to help out. And what am I looking at price wise ???

Whole house fan is the way to go. An “attic fan” is really meant to move air out of the attic space. It does provide some cooling effect for the entire house, but only a fraction of a whole house fan. Some people do use the terms interchangeably, but they’re not the same. If you’re a handyman and install the whole house fan yourself, you’re looking at ~$200-$300, depending on what type you buy.
